    First blood for outwide

With the weather looking the goods last week I decided that we would go in balls and all and tow the new tub to 1770 for a fish.
On arrival to the ramp there was a slight Northerly 15kn+ but after collecting a heap of live bait we punched through it with no effort at all.
I decided to fish up near Sykes and work my way down the following day.

We found a very nice isolated rock in 80m where we pulled good size trout, blue moari, stonker pearlies and a couple of 8kg reds.
I decided to leave that rock for a while after going quiet and simply fished each show pulling quality red throat and mixed reef.
It was that calm when we decided to anchor there was no need to shelter around an island or lagoon.

Once the hamburgers were consumed and a number of beams we bunkered down for the night.
The whales were getting closer and a little on the scary side but all was good.
We woke to a sheet of glass conditions but the fish were a little shy.
As we made our way down to the east of Lady Musgrave we slowly added to what seemed like a healthy box.
We fished another isolated rock where we pulled some very healthy red throat and parrot to 5kg.

It was getting time to head in and left the fish chewing.
The boat sat on 4300rpm,4km and a total burn of 1.1ltrs per km.
It was awesome to say the least, the tunes cranking, window wipers working and the sounder, well what can I say,it read at 44km and gave a very clear picture making it easy to find new ground for next time.

There were a couple of issues one being an interference problem but was quickly solved with a early morning phone call to Wayne(KITTYKAT)from Garmin.
The other major issue was the trailer which took 2 hours to get the boat to centre on the trailer correctly.
This has been promptly fixed by Sam at Performance Plate Boats.
I have to apologize to Tansy(I think thats his name)from Ausfish who came up to say hello whilst I was having a major melt down due to the trailer and a scratch on the hull.lol

We finally arrived in Brisbane at 2am and went straight to bed.
The following day was spent cleaning over 60 fish caught in the half day Wednesda and 6 ours Thursday.

I hope you enjoy the pics of our adventure and first back to 1770 after 3 years.
    Cheers Mick.

A few more pics I had trouble up loading.
You will notice in one of the sounder images the speed and how clear the screen is of interference.
This makes looking for new ground a lot easier then it use to be.

Good to see you back on the water. Always a few teething problems but apart from the scratch sounds like you had a great trip.

Sharp knives, proper cleaning tables, without them you will be over cleaning fish. Nice!

I reread through the build thread and couldn't find it. What electronics (sounder) did you go with?
