Gold Coast School Holiday Trips June/July

Did a couple of trips out over the school holidays. Mainly chasing Jew on the close reefs as it is the GCGFC species of the month. Had some quality nights with good numbers of fish but they were not massive. Best was 112cm with a couple of fish around the 110cm and a lot of 80-90cm fish.

Also had a day out wide chasing the Blues with no success, however, we managed to score a nice Blue Eye Trevalla and some Gemfish on some deep drops. Gemfish are now up there as one of my favourite eating fish.

    Nice fish mate.
I have never caught a Jew, and I have fished on plenty of close reefs.
What are some of the basics in chasing em?

    cheers

Rob as Smithy said Jew and live baits are a must. Pike, Slimies or just legal Tailor are the go. Find the biggest structure you can and just after the sun goes down the Jew will be there.

Smithy yes mate you are correct that is on the Riv that Danny is fishing.
