Any tips for fishing Currimundi Reef ???

    Hello all,

I've been thinking of trying some new ground and have heard the reefs around Caloundra can be productive.

In talking to someone who dives Currimundi Reef, they suggested there is less run there compared to, say Woorim or Scarby, which sounds good.

I have marks for Currimundi 'proper', as well as North and South.

Any tips or clues on the best way to fish the area would be very welcome.

For reference, I have a 5m semi-plate boat with an 80hp 4-stroke, and could put in at Caloundra or Mooloolaba. I live near Caboolture.

    Cheers, Steve.

Those marks should put you in the general area, then just a matter of sounding around to find some decent structure holding bait and/or fish..

Anchor, burley (hard) and float fresh baits..same way to fish all of the shallower reefs on the sunny coast.

There are always plenty of big yakkas there also which will come up in your burley trail and can be caught on the bait jig, these are all the bait you need to be successful there if all else fails!

Plenty of sweeties, snaps, cobes and mixed reefies there even the odd coral trout if your lucky..

Fish on the biggest concentrations of bait shows on your sounder.
