Need help installing 22inch led light bar!!! 2010 ford ranger!!!

    Hey guys

have just purchased a 22 inch led light bar I'm going to put on the bullbar of my 2010 ford ranger xlt.

This was the wiring diagram that came with it

    http://www.stedi.com.au/blog/Wiring-...tions-diagram/

someone said you have to be careful how you wire it up to a ranger.

so any instructions and pictures of how to wire it would be great.

    thanks

Just wire as you would a set of spotlights using a relay!
Tap off you high beam globe as per normal, and wire the dash switch to break this circuit.
No issues with the electrics if the system is wired this way.

My 2009 ranger has been running without a hiccup. Big HID's spotties, tapped into passenger highbeam. Onto a relay and cabin override switch.

This is the wiring that came with it, already has a relay in it so should be fine. Are the ford Rangers negatively switched or positively switched system

i would say the reference to "careful how you wire it up to a ranger" would be if that model has the so called smart alternator.[which can be disabled by ford]
Get onto the "new ranger" forum and have a read.
From my understanding the car references what has been drawn from the battery and only puts back in that amount, and adding a draw from the wrong part of the circuitry may lead to a flat battery.
Btw 2010 model may not have it, google will be your friend.

So in the picture the red and black wires with the terminal connectors on them, do I just find the positive and negative on the high beam instead of just connecting them to the battery?

Hard to say Matty without looking at the relay diagram and what pin those wires are connected to.

Looking at the wiring loom again I would say that would only allow you to turn them on and off with the in cab switch. Not on off with high beam stalk. Which can be dangerous to oncoming motorists if you kill the high beams but the light bar stays on.

You need the relay to be triggered by the high beam circuit. Which means tapping into the H4 plug on the standard headlights. Use a test light to figure out which pin illuminates the high beam globe.

Then run that wire into the cab and put a switch to override the signal. This allows you to have normal high beam without the light bar on. The return the wire back to relay pin #86. His signal can be small wire.
Battery power connects to pin#30. Heavy gauge wire.
Pin #87/87A go to the light bar. Or the duetsch plug in your case.
    Pin #85 is earth.

Your relay could sit anywhere you like.
