    Fuel sender gasket?

Anyone know where I can get replacement tank fuel sender gasket locally is brisbane? Mine looks to be a fw murphy unit? http://www.gaugesrus.com.au/product_...products_id=37
Tried the usual whitworths /boating rv etc and a few local boat workshops and they only sell complete sender units.
This new gasket and screws is what I want -

I think the sae 5 hole sender for boats is a universal fit so do any cars use that size? Will try repco/bursons tomorrow, just wanted to know if I'm s#@t outta luck and need to order it online tonight so I can get it asap.
    Cheers.

Also, should I be using a sealant on it on an alloy tank? I've read to use stag but haven't seen that anywhere for sale here. My current cork one has a hard brown sealant around the 5 screws.

Finding a premade gasket may be tricky but someone like Burson's should have a gasket material you can fabricate one out of. I bought some Stag at Victoria Point Auto and Marine a while back.

    Re: Fuel sender gasket?

A chunk of rubber impregnated cork gasket came out when I cleaned out my tank so I assume it's from the inside edge on the fuel sender gasket as its the same material. I want to replace it before the tank goes back in and hoping to get a nitrile one off the shelf so I never have to worry about chunks of gasket floating around in there again before I cut my own..
    cheers.

    Re: Fuel sender gasket?

I think there is a gasket replacement part if you look online but good luck finding 1 here. yes to sealant as well on ally tank I had same issue but got a new gauge and stole the gasket kept the gauge as a spare, but I used aviation compound brown sticky crap but sealed for life, stag paste used to be the industry standard but a product recipe change made that no good for unleaded fuel.
if you make your own try use a silicon rubber with sealer and don't over tighten
    then it realy gets ughly

And while you've got it apart check the central rubber seal, I'd replaced the gasket (made my own, then found it leaked through the central seal.
Don't use Stag as with unleaded it will go hard and brittle. JB Weld make a fuel proof to aluminium paste, but I don't recall which one you need.

Heres the stuff u need its cork gasket paper or sheet a quick search found super cheap sell it dont buy the black or gray sheet as i dont think that is fuel safe

The black/gray sheets are for water pumps

The beige sheets are fuel save cork sheets
