Just a reminder to folks that the Mullet season is nearly upon us.
Keep an eye out at the Fresh Fish outlets to get the best prices.
Post up your " find ".
I reckon the old 3kgs for $10 is the best we'll do.
Other baits to look for are:-
Whole squid
Large Slimie mackerel
Pillies
Yakka
and of course some trolling baits like:-
Tailor
Pike
Gar
Bonito

We Have holidays booked in, and the usual house we get on hold from previous years, just need to check on high school exams and a bit of other stuff as it gets closer, but likely we will be there again. Kev, Margie and our three pups.

Lucky_Phill over the years what quantities have you estimated per person.
We have found that if we were just using mullet we would use about one kilo per person per day. Roughly..
That's not a bad estimate. I have always used Mullet and live baits and found that sufficient.
Of late, I have found taking a variety of baits is more productive. Changing baits when things go quiet can lead to better results by bringing them to feed.
A good day on the water could see us use 2 - 3 kgs of bait per person. WE do tend to use big baits though and this can easily blow out to 5kgs if we strike pickers.
Having said that, keeping a few Hussar and Iodine Bream for fresh flesh baits adds to the mix and well worth while.
IF trolling ( which is what I will use the Gar, Bonito and large Slimies for ) about 10 baits will do when added to the live baits and hardbody lures.

Phill,
When you edited that post of Bull01 because he allegedly didn't spell Yatala correctly, you spelt Yatala with a small "y" in the reason for the edit.
Just so you know.
TOL
Bull01 actually meant to say yalta pies, but thats another story....
I was in Phuket Harbour, about to board a 30ft open boat with 3 x 250 Yammies pushing it and heading to Phi Phi Island for the day. So YES, I am dressed like a tourist, but not a yank
