    $65million Better Bay Play for Port Phillip Bay

    Keep Australia Fishing has welcomed the announcement that a future Napthine Government would implement a $65 million Better Bay Plan for Port Phillip Bay.

    Keep Australia Fishing understands the Premier’s plan for Port Phillip Bay will deliver:

    • A $20.5 million buy back for commercial licenses –focused on reducing the pressure of commercial netting in the Bay;
    • $20.5 million investment in new and upgraded bike paths around Port Phillip Bay;
    • $16.7 million to protect the Bay against impact as of erosion, litter and marine pests; and
    • $4.29 million to upgrade and improve fishing piers; and $3.07 million for Beach Patrol volunteers and investment into Surf life Saving Clubs.

    Keep Australia Fishing is looking forward to the response by Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews to the Premier's visionary plan for Port Phillip Bay.

    That's all good, but I don't see any funds heading towards the Coast Guard or VMR.

    I don't see any funds going towards artificial reefs.
