Lawrence elite 5 problem

I've just wired in my new elite 5HDi. it came with a years subscription to navonics. The first test when well i was able to select and view my usual fishing spots and put in some marks. but I've gone back to turn it on and its started beeping at me, it then tells me my gps position has been found and i get about 30 seconds before it all begins again. It seems ok until i zoom closer then it begins the cycle. This is when the boat is sitting on the trailer in my yard. Any ideas?

Try removing the chart card and see if it functions ok without the chart.

well i popped the card out and it worked, reloaded the maps and its running fine. must have been an error with the initial download. all good now.

Hi Airlock ... is your unit the Elite-5 chirp ?? Current price around the $769 ??? I was think of buying one and wondered if you had some words of advice .

just be aware they only have a 12 month warranty, once warranty expires they wont touch it
my down button has gone, only 17 months old, gps function not used much but I cant get it fixed
