OP - I agree with you entirely. If a fishing rod CANNOT be used in a rod holder (which is normal use) the manufacturer must state this and cannot then turn around and tell you after the fact.
Daiwa are the world champions at avoiding warranty claims.
It is a shame that they screwed me over on a Certate and a Saltiga. I would not touch another Daiwa reel if they were giving them away. Only had one issue with one of my Stellas and I was overwhelmed with the service I received. Good luck with your rod, but don't hold your breath.
