Braid for 15kg 2.1 m rod set up?

I was thinking something along the lines of a Saltywater Race Point 300, without the over inflated price tag.

My knowledge on rods is very limited.I don't see the need for a gimbal on a spin stick as the weight of the reel and line being underneath should hold it in position.Technicaly the backbone of the rod should hold either an overhead or a spin rod in place and the gimbal should only steady the winding,But very few if any rod manufacturers these days take the backbone into account when binding one up.
I did a bit of a search on your reel just now and found one described as being nine out of ten in condition that sold in 2006 for seven hundred and eighty bucks US.....I'm guessing back then that would have been close to a grand AUD.....Take good care of it.

Most I have seen have sold for less than 100 pounds.
