Crikey This is REALLY sad.
I felt that those who attended the 2014 Agnes /1770 M&G were all part of one group /community, i.e. guys (&gals) who enjoy getting together for a few laughs, camaraderie, "joy", fishing and a bloody good time. I received (& gave) assistance from/to all others without discrimination of 'camp' allegiances ... the way it should be.
I have no knowledge of background circumstances that has led to the 'offshore' rift, nor do I wish to. I believe that the VAST majority have similar experience & feelings. I therefore respectfully and sincerely urge the 'leaders' of both groups to seriously consider the longer term consequences of this squabble. I have no doubt that if reconciliation is not pursued, then the general fisho public patronage will continue to decrease (affecting both groups) but more importantly … the wider fisho community will be worse off.
Personalities, pride, and prejudices can be a dangerous mix, particularly on a keyboard internet medium. I have both fell foul of feeling, & been guilty of creating, angst simply because of the limitations of this style of communication.
So again I urge ALL ‘leaders’ to reach deep and pursue a course of reconciliation, setting aside past events …… for the greater good of all.
Sincerely yours, Mal M
It takes a lot of energy to keep a grudge alive. The longer there is lack of forgiveness, the more bitterness and anger poisons the spirit and eats at the heart.
Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself when you learn to accept the apology you never got.
