Reminder: Cairns and Innisfail fisheries review public meetings next week

Reminder: Cairns and Innisfail fishers are encouraged to attend a fisheries review public consultation meeting being held next week.

    - Cairns: Mon 8 Sep, 5-7pm, Cairns State High School, “N” block Science Auditorium, Upwards Street, Cairns
    - Innisfail: Tue 9 Sep, 5-7pm, Innisfail Concert Hall/Shire Hall, Rankin Street, Innisfail

This will be hosted by independent consultants, MRAG Asia Pacific.

MRAG Asia Pacific is looking for views on issues and potential solutions to improve the long-term fisheries management system in Queensland and will be seeking comments on eight main components of good fisheries management systems. For a list of questions for discussions, visit the MRAG Asia Pacific website

Is it a truly independant review? I was of the understanding that MRAG are closely affiliated to or have received some serious funding in the past from the PEW Foundation. One would imagine if they have had any previous affiliation with the PEW Foundation then their outcomes are going to be somewhat skewed.
