Land based fisho trying to make the transition to Boat fishing

Hi All,

I'm a longtime land based fisho but only just bought a tinnie to try some boat based fishing with 2 other mates. None of us have any boat fishing experience.

We have had maybe 4 trips to port of brisbane (closest location) to test the boat and try our luck with not much success.

So i thought I'd acquaint myself with fellow ausfisher's maybe learn the ropes from a fellow veteran.

Hoping to hear any tips you may have especially those who are like me and started boat fishing with limited or no boating experience.

Threadies on livies from the poo shoot would be the target. Failing that we don't mind bream either.

In term of electronic s i suppose I don't have any excuses. Have a hds 7 83/200 tranducer n structurescan. But Interpreting what I see on screen is another matter all together. I look for arches and bait balls but don't know if what I'm seeing is just water sediment/noise/jellyfish
