Yes they do, not an unusual sight in the Pine River.
Sitting on the balcony of Mint Appartments on Sunday morning around 7am, saw a fish jump in the Brisbane River below us. Well, actually we heard it before seeing the splash.
It must have been about 3ft in length.
As we were on the 10th floor, it must have been sizeable for us to hear it land. It jumped again about 5 minutes later and I saw it that time.
It was not scaley, kind of silvery on the underside and darker on top 1/3 of the body. I thought maybe a cattie first but would have been a huge catfish to look the size it did from where we were sitting.

Often see it around Coochie and Macleay.
Seen one jump on sunday in the pumicestone passage caloundra end
seen them at 2.5 metres jumping out at Hinchinbrook Is. Was quite a sight

I regularly see one jumping out of the water in my flatty spot. It's about 2.5 to 3 foot long. As the tide drops he goes off in the narrow Chanel smashing bait. Great sight to see.
Yep, the bigger ones sound like a car being dropped into the ocean. Have seen some pretty big whalers offshore doing great pirouettes - perfect tens!

I've almost had one jump into the boat.
In some countries they are called, 'Spinners', because they jump occasionally

I've seen some jump as I was coming out of the Manly Boat Harbour many years ago.
