Freight options

I've found a couple of good Kayaks and was keen until I got a quote on the freight that was more than the Kayak itself!! What do people or companies use for the larger items like this? I got a quote of $195 for a big double Kayak from a shop which is what I was hoping for. The freight company I rang was over a $1000!

Mate I gave up looking down south for kayaks unfortunately and just went the bcf option. No idea who the bigger companies use but they probably have some good rates!
