Info from mercury and or simrad re vessel view and nss12

The new vessel view Gage's fro verado etc.conects to nss12 even both Gage's look the same!
what would be interesting is can I bypass the vessel view 7 and just connect to the nss12 simrad. Without the 7 inch vessel view

the vessel view software "and display characteristics" are designed by navico "lowrance/simrad etc" hense why they look similar
and without the vessel view you will need a Mercury NMEA-smartcraft box "a couple hundred bucks from your local mercury dealer" which takes engine smartcraft data and runs it into nmea2k which can then run to your simrad backbone giving you data

IMO its always good havign one factory gauge at least.

ok what about the taco etc. from the smart craft gages , then purchase the box as mentioned and also see all the diagnostics etc. like fuel used and left etc. on the simrad nss12! can that be done?
