Mate try FMS Trailers, I bought a 7x4 4 years Ago and it's built like a brick s#@thouse, so much so I ended up getting my new boat trailer from them.

I bought my Belco about 8 years ago. Fully galvanised, heavy duty and tough as nails. Very happy with their product from then, but they changed hands a few years ago so not sure what they're like now.

Very happy with my polymate trailer. Can leave clippings etc in it until im ready to dump with no fear of rusting out. It's also a tipper which is good for what I want it for. Haven;t taken it off-roading but with the necessary suspension mods I've no doubt it would be fine.

    Re: heavy duty box trailer

My brother and I built one, then another.

I'll post up pics tomorrow to give you an idea of what we did.

    But for now.

    7 x 5 fully gal

    15inch ford wheels

    axles etc from Spinneythings

extra long drawbar that houses tool box, spare wheel ( laying flat ) and jockey wheel.

    dual safety chains

    500mm high sides

32mm gal pipe tie down rails all round

swing away and lift off tailgate

corners are open to take cage

all wiring placed inside box steel using gromets where they come out.

    checkerplate mudguards

    LED lighting

The floor of the trailer is not bolted or welded in, it is cut perfectly to size, sikaflexed to chassis and sikaflexed internal corners making it waterproof and a totally smooth floor.

The suspension is rated to 1 ton, but only registered as a 750kg model.

There are trailers and there are trailers.......... definately figure out exactly what you want to do with it and work from there. Ivan at FMS will give you good ideas.
