    Bundaberg shark

I was down at Bargara yesterday talking to a local.
They have 35 drum lines off Bargara and check them every two days.
There's a problem , something is staightening the shark hooks..........
They expect to see a 4mtr tiger pretty soon.....

35 drum lines off Bargara? Do they put multiple hooks per float - because there sure isn't 35 floats in the area.

    Re: Bundaberg shark

That's the number the guy quoted, they go north and south, maybe Innes park up Burnett heads.
I'll have a look and count....
The council releases the catch numbers at the end of each year, he said it's usually about 70 sharks, mostly small.....
    Not counting the hook straighteners...........

I'm in Bundy too - they must be talking the whole region because Bargara only has 4, maybe 6. Lets say 3 or 4 on Mon Repos, 2 on Oaks Beach at Burnett heads, I don;t think any at coral cove or elliot heads, Innes PArk - no idea. Even doubling the numbers from my sketchy memory still leaves way less than 35.

Sorry randell - not busting your balls over this - I believe that's what they told you, I'm just curios as to where they all are. I often sit and watch the shark guys doing Oaks beach in hopes of seeing something come over the side, but never have.

I wish they would put the shark lines out to encircle the Artificial with there bigger hooks.

    Re: Bundaberg shark

It is OK when there are several boats on the reef but when you are there on your own and catch a few fish it has been murder. It is like if there are several boats the sharks will pick on one or two but on your own they come from all points of the reef to sit under your boat, some very big mothers amongst them too!!!

A 3.7 mtr spotted recently, some say it's a myth......
The biggest caught on a drum line was 5 mtrs, a fair while back.
