I have been staying fortnightly at The Mantra backing onto the boat harbour. The car park seems to have plenty of parks so I can assume boats would be ok. All rooms have a view of the harbour/ocean.
Cheers Dean
Is there anyone out there that can recommend waterfront accommodation(must have bedroom with sea views - wife idea)
Accommodation also must cater for boat and trailer + car.
Any assistance would be appreciated

I saw that any feed back from your stay would be appreciated

It's spelled Hervey Bay for your googling purposes. There is not real absolute beachfront property apart from caravan parks along the esplanade, which is mostly planted out with cottonwood trees so to get a good view you'll need a place with 3rd floor or better accommodation, or back up on the hill a bit. As per above, the stuff at the marina has views from the lower floors.

We have stayed lots of times around Hervey Bay. Last time we were there we rented a house at a place just out of Hervey called Toogoom. Nice house on the water and alot cheaper than caravan parks etc. Plenty of room for the 4x4 and the boat also. Just google real estate--Hervey Bay/Burrum Heads/Toogoom--holiday lets and you will get an idea.

Well where to start i have been holidaying at Hervey bay for about 45 years and almost always with a boat. I have just booked at a place called Oasis not 5 star but suits our family size its on the esplande and you can park the boat in the back yard (fenced). Some others we have stayed in are Bayview, the house on the corner of the esplanade and hockley lane and the house facing the water down hockley lane. There are others available but not quality places. My family have been talking about this very thing, the bay used to be very family/fishing orientated but gradually places to stay on the esplanade with security for your boat are slowly disappearing. staying at the apartments down at the harbor are very nice but nowhere for the boat, nowhere to wash and clean the boat nor the catch. Having said that there are some very nice houses one or two streets back that do cater well for us boaties. If a view of the bay is not a necessity the big 4 caravan park at Torquay is very nice with good cabins, pool bbq nice manicured grounds and boat parking area. There is also another park up at Urangan with same sort of facility's i think its called the Windmill. Hope this is of some help.

I am heading up in Jamuary - I found the best way was to ring around the Marinas and get a space in their lockup. I got one at Pacific Marina that cost $50 for the 10 days we are up there, they give you a key and it is right next to the public ramp.
Certainly opens up the accomodation options when you can do that
Hope you work it out and if you are up there around teh 10th of Jan for a week give me a yell - we'll go for a fish!

There is a great car/boat wash on Elizabeth st at Urangan, its about 400m Nth of Woolies. Easy enough to get a car and trailer in and out, coin operated. Ive used it often.
Mantra has open carparking with secure gate, mostly 1 br, and Peppers Resort mostly 2-3 br, has under cover parking with secure gate, 2.2m clearance, so its good for open boats, but not flybridges. Secure parking at the marina is very limited. Both resorts operate the carpark on 'park anywhere you want' no numbered spaces, so you run the risk of not getting a spot each night in peak season. There is a private yard that offers boat parking, but I cant remember the name. The Urangan harbourmaster would have it, if you can find his number. Its not expensive, but only open daylight hours.
Most guys find a unit or house and chain/clamp the boat trailer wheels, and park in the street in front of the resort. Its safe enough, just a hassle to remove all the gear. Both resorts have security patrols several times a night and are well lit.
Its almost impossible to find a water view with boat accom in the the area. If it were me, Id rent the wife the nicest unit I could find, and tell her you have to sleep in the boat to keep an eye on it, so you might as well park on the water, and youll see her again at the end of the holiday........

Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
