    They can be very frustrating at times but they are well worth the effort. Small lures are the trick. I like the Gillies and Searock style slugs in 10-20gm. White works best for me. I use 6kg braid and 10-15kg leader. When finicky I drop down to 6lb main ad 15 b leader on a 2-4kg rod and 3000 reel

    Great post dyseac. Full of excellent advice. I too enjoy chasing these fickle buggers. This post confirms that I'm doing everything right but could be doing more. Absolute stealth - to the point that I would consider an electric motor for the final approach ?? When I head out front I now carry my baitcaster for this purpose, I have caught 2 longtail and a bludger trevally that put up a 35 minute fight on 4kg line. Great fun.
