Garmin GPSmap 551s

Hi all I have a garmin 551s just after some advice on sounder set up I would like to get the most out of it. I only fish estuaries. Any tips would be appreciated.

id be running it on auto/ 200khz at first , they havnt the best refresh rate on those 551s so if your cruising slowly take it off ultrascroll and down to "Fast"...........anything slower than that is TOOO slow.

Mine looses often the depth reading when you go across into shallower water.... just when you want it the most!

Tried various fixes but can't get a reliable one. Often coming off the plane and waiting for 20 secs or so fixes it.

Also switching to manual gain.,. then back to auto sometimes fixes it.
