Where do the Spotties come from?

No, not the acne variety.

Spotty Mackerel in SEQ. I got a few last summer and had heaps of fun, and am hanging out for them to come back.

Does anyone know if they migrate down the coast from up north, or do they come in from the open ocean as our sea temps warm up, and pretty well hit SEQ in plenty of places at the same time?

They come from north to south mate, from all reports they are in hervey bay atm and should be here in a few weeks hopefully

The Spottie mack breeding grounds are around Bowen... in NQ. They travel south as far as Sydney Harbour, depending on the East Coast current temps.

They were getting a few off DI a week or so ago. I will wait for a big SE for a few days then go for a run up the Bay
