    Breaksea M&G breakdown - Maritime Men's Shed

Made it home late yesterday afternoon. Well this was technically my second only M&G but was by far the best.

Like nearly every fishing trip they are graded in two ways, you know the weather was fantastic but we didn't get many fish or the fishing was good but the weather was crap, this trip brings in a new grading element - the company was excellent.

After travelling up Thursday and being the first to Rooney's with the weather nothing short of fantastic I settled in and waited for various crews heard on the radio. A few drinks, laughs and dinner saw the night out.
Well Friday's weather dawned and stayed glorious all day - but I only got 12 and a bit fish. Nothing truly noteworthy but nice quality fish nonetheless.
Saturday dawned with a 10-15 knot Northerly forecast ramping up to 15-20 by lunch time - I decided since I'd burned more fuel than expected and thought I may be borderline I might as well travel, sightsee and fish my way down the inside of the island. Arrived at Urangan late morning.

In summary as mentioned I didn't get a lot of fish and billfish weren't on my dance card, but part of my impetus in going there was to check the area out for further trips in good company and full support, I found a few new spots worthy of future investigations....... hopefully without the bloody sharks next time.

Had a great time and I'll be going to few more of these humble gatherings - they seem to be quite therapeutic, sort of a marine version of a men's shed.

    Thank you all gentlemen.......

Few pics attached for those inclined.

Driving back from Caloundra this morning and passed beeracuda at the toorbul turn off at 1130. I said to the wife they must have left early this morning and was wondering how the weather was. Thanks for the post

Is this the best Ausfish photo, ever?

Perhaps the local marine and tackle industry should start taking notice...

    Hi Trevally,
Just wanted to Thank you personally for setting Ausfish recognition and possible buying power, backwards 5 years.

I mean there's one in every crowd, why did you have to centre on.....

Ok so a couple of us think a "moon over members" photo is a highlight. Cool.
Meanwhile can we get back to the other aspects of the original post? Possibly? In a small way?

Gee that post is great, just sayin...

Re: Breaksea M&G breakdown - Maritime Men's Shed

What a cracking weekend, horse nailed the weather again, the fish didnt fire like last year but still got a few.

My highlight of the weekend was definately the raft up friday night, an awesome bunch of awesome blokes, doesnt get any better than that! Surely 15 boats or whatever it got up to was an ausfish record?

Anyway great to see all you blokes again and also some new faces which was great. Do we really have to wait another year for this or might this m&g have to be bi-annual????
