Ok, you boys are not going to like what you about to see. This is one of my rare fish report and its not in the report section.
Well today I caved into the temptation, organised a mate boat and we were out at sunrise, looked around and finally found them.
all the damage done with slugs
About 30 hook up and plenty of spectacular bust off, we were there with a few other boat, mainly pro line fisho.
The end result is 15 fishes for 3 of us, most of the fish are around 90-100cm in about 1.5hr
Left them still on the boil. NO BIRD action at all.
By this time next week they will be in between southern bribie and moreton, hopeful

Great stuff. No bird action. How the hell did you track them down to throw slugs ?
That is a great fishing session. Can I ask what slugs you used ?

    Cheers

what is the main form of communication? I only have marine channels on a gme294. would a gx300 give me more or do you guys all use pro-type vhf radios?

    Re: Summer mackeral bash

Most people run a VHF, some boat have that plus UHF.
If we are in my boat on sat, I will be on VHF, but if I'm in mate's boat it will be smoke signal, and steam powered

    Re: Summer mackeral bash

thanks man. since my post I've been looking into it a bit more but it gets a bit complicated so i'll likely stick with my 27MHz until i can work out what's the best setup for me

it might need to be smoke signals for me too

    Re: Summer mackeral bash

Sitting here looking out of caloundra and it is very lumpy. Watched a 50-60 ft cruiser battling through, bet they were happy to get to mooloolaba. It would slam into a swell and all but stop, wallow, pick up speed and do it all again. Hope it had everything stowed tight. Hope the conditions improve for the weekend for everyone.
