    Gas injected Turbo Diesel ???

Looking at buying an 04 GLX turbo diesel gas injected Pajero. Just curious, can the pajero be ran without the gas or do you always need to have gas and diesel in tanks. Might be a silly question but know nothing about this type of set up.
    Thanks guys,

    Hey mate,

No, you do not need to run the gas all the time - you can switch it on and off as much as you like. If the gas runs out, you will just go back to the stock performance level of the engine.

Gas injection does make quite a difference on towing and economy - much better in both aspects. For people looking at adding gas injection to their diesel, you need to factor in the amount of towing and miles you will be doing to work out what the ROI would be. If you don't tow big loads all the time or don't do a lot of miles, it may not worth the dollars.

Just remember that a lot of mechanics will not want to touch the LPG set up if something goes wrong.

It will need to be looked at by a specialised LPG fitter/mechanic if problems arise.....I learnt my lesson after the conversion was done on my old 100 series petrol....I had some dramas and no-one wanted to touch it.

A lot different to LPG in a diesel mate. LPG on a diesel ADDS a small flow of LPG to the injection to increase the combustion efficiency. It is not like a petrol where you run on LPG or petrol.

LPG injection on a diesel is nothing new - it is just starting to get a bit more traction now in Australia with more people trying it and reaping the rewards.

In terms of reliability, as long as it has been installed by an experienced fitter and is not a home install job with a fleaBay kit, you shouldn't have any issues. I would get it checked by a specialist before purchasing the vechicle...not that I would ever buy a Mitsubishi any, but that is beside the point.

Yeah , I left it alone. Ended up with a 03 turbo diesel Paj. Pretty happy with it. Low ks for its age at 232k and pretty straight. Heading down 'sth Ballina beach this arvo to see how she goes in the sand. Never had an Auto 4by before or diff locks so very interested and excited....

Just a tip on lockers. Don't use them till you actually need them (like you are already bogged or are about to go through/up something serious) and generally, you will only need to put the rears in. DO NOT just go driving around with them in.

A lot more to them than that, but for general 4WDing, that is the simple way to explain them.

    Yeah thanks mate,
went down south Ballina this arvo and all went well. Understand that to use them only when needed and I purposely wanted to need to use them. Got her pretty well stuck in the sand on purpose taking one of the tracks that take you off the beach in high 4wd, locked the back diffs and struggled to move, locked all wheels and got out nice an easy. I personally preffered to use the sports auto mode and change gears when I wanted but still a lot to get use to going from a cruiser to a Pajero..............Iknow, I know but money wouldn't allow a cruiser at this stage and needed on now for family reasons but she will do the job for now
