Importing Firestone Ride rite air bags for Holen Colorado RG

Hi, I am trying to find the right part number for a set of Firestone Ride rite air bag to suit my Colorado RG ute. The airbags in the USA are less than half the price we pay here. What a bloody ripoff. Even withe the high postage it is still worth while.

Has anyone here imported a set for a Colorado which they successfully fitted. I would very much like the part number.

The Australian site all have the importers stand alone part number to deter people ordering from the USA.

I dont mind people making a dollar but charging twice as much as what I can buy a set retail for.................RRRRRRRRRRRRR.

    Hey Vickypoint.

Have you done any research on the effects that air bags may have on the

    chassis between spring hangers.

There seems to be an opinion floating about that the third point of support eg. airbags over the axle has a tendency to bend chassis.

Maybe my info is incorrect but it seems plausible.

With a maximum of 350 kg. as specified on the draw bar plus the load on the tray/tub I would probably go for another leaf in the springs.

    Just saying.

Vickypoint, have a look at The Grey Nomads Forum .com.au.

Big article about twin cab utes and broken backs over air bags.

    Have fun Haji-Baba.
