    GoPro camera

I am looking at buying a GoPro camera, can anyone tell me what they are like?
What I am hoping to use it for is to attach to a pole and place over the side or back of my boat so as to see what fish are under me when I am sitting still or going very slow. Also what can it be attached to so you can see what's happening eg Ipad or maybe connect to my Lowrance HDS5 or Simrad NSS7. Can anyone give me some advice as I know nothing about them.

Just recently got one. Silver edition. You can wi fi them to an Iphone to get viewing and use it as a remote so cant see why not with ipad. Probably wouldn't want to save them on there straight away are they are massive files which will chew up your space pretty quick but just viewing them should be OK.

wifi doesn't work under water. You'd have to rig some sort of cable with a waterproof fitting. This site has a lot of info .... http://goprouser.freeforums.org/

Go for the silver. Mate got a Black and doesn't use the upgraded features from the silver like recording in 4k (1080p is pleanty). A lot of people get the black just because its the best and if you've got the spare cash go nuts but unless you're doing professional videos its not worth it. Silver to white the major is the fps if you want to do some good slow mo and the photo burst which i have never used.

You can make some pretty cool videos with them but I use mainly for obstacle course racing. There's one my mate made when i took a few of them out for a training run >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=S130GfM2BXU

Fore warning! if you want to do editing and match up sound with the video it can literally take hours

Do a YouTube search for cape upstart and have a look at the footage from a go pro attached to a remote control helicopter.
    Cool stuff.

The NSS7 is very good, I have it set up with the screen split to structure scan and sounder and the HDS5 Gen2 set to GPS, I can scroll back and make waypoints etc. Do be aware that you have to go into the settings to make it work but once it's set up it works well, also you can call their helpline, they are very good, I would definitely recommend the combination. Do you know if you can make the GoPro work on the sounder?
