    Snot Weed Caboolture River

Tried to fish the Caboolture River last Thursday only to find it chock a block with Snot Weed. If only there was some way of knowing what triggers this pest and when it was about it would save a lot of frustration. Tried the run in and run out tide only to keep pulling in lures that resembled Bob Marley's head and went home without a bite. What a pain this stuff is.

Ok, so lots of lookers but no comments. Is anyone else seeing snot weed in the estuaries around Brisbane? Do you have any thoughts as to what has brought this on?

Every July and August the algae blooms, early August it starts to die off and break free, late september it is usually gone. Perfectly natural event every year. Pine Caboolture and the passage are lousy with it atm. Heard the southern bay is too.

Thanks, Jack. I appreciate your response. So its just a matter of wait and see once September arrives.
