    Damn seals!!

Plugged the Elite 5 DSI in tonight to transfer some marks onto SD card and when i removed the mapping card there is corrosion on the terminals and will not read the maps or the blank card now. The door has always been tightly shut but it looks like the damage is done now.
Is there any cleaner or solvent that might bring back a connection inside the card slot? I am not worried about the map card.....its probably 100% stuffed and easily replaced........ the port in the sounder tho???

You could try some pure alcohol (swabs).

CO contact cleaner and mini cotton tips, the CO cleaner can be sprayed liberally and the tips used to rub the buildup away. A trip to JayCar might also be a good idea. They may have some other products that will be of benefit.
    Good luck with it. Jim

Well not much room, maybe try a modified oxy tip cleaner to gently rub the teminals and wash away with the CO cleaner.

If all else fails duck into the chemist and grab some nail files that the sheilas use to do their nails.
Not that any of us use these items. Only for such emergencies as these...Jim
