Chasing yabbies & fishing with kids down at the Pin

In an effort to avoid the Ekka I am taking three six year olds fishing tomorrow down at the pin. It has been a while since I have been down there. I was planning on fishing off Crusoe and along Kalinga bank. Not after big fish but with six year olds they need to be kept interested constantly! Chasing whiting should keep them active. Any advice on where to go? Also they love pumping yabbies. Where would we go to pump some yabbies around that area? Thanks, any advice for six year olds welcome!

Plenty of yabbies on the sandbar in Fishermans' Channel M8

It is a shallow channel and more suitable for smaller boats with minimum draft.....runs in between Main Channel & Canaipa Passage...Map 124 - Beacon 2 Beacon.

Low tide around 8.30 in the morning...IDEAL.

    Cheers, Ray.

loads of yabbies on the eastern end of the little island south of crusoe.
Might be bit more sheltered from the northerlies forecast than gold bank ?

Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

The master of cobia might be busy or have missed your question... so I will tell you...

It is from the Navionics app. Fantastic nav app. I spend most Monday mornings on the train looking around for and checking distances etc planning my next weekends outings...

Also it's fun to see how fast the train is moving...
