    Offshore Currents

    Hey guys,

Wanting to organise an overnight trip off Fraser island/Double Island Point but have heard rumours that there is a lot of current.

Can anyone help me with finding out if there is, how long is it going to last and how strong it is. Or if anyone has recently been offshore Fraser Island/Double Island Point and knows that the current is there, please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Michael

Hey mate, fished from the pinnacles to the shelf yesterday off DI. With a drogue out current was consistently 1.5 to 2 km/hour. Not too bad but would not have wanted to be any stronger. By the way we did crap, worst trip ever.

The run is really bad atm, the further north you go the better it is. We were wide on the weekend battling with 3.5 knots of run. Nearly unfishable in the depth we were fishing....
