I havn't been up there for 5 years now, but it used to be good. Just out the front of the council caravan park there is a few deep holes, good sand flats at the Hillcrest caravan park. There was a good hole near the second channel marker & good fishing at the Sarina Housing Estate.

We stay at Woodgate for a week most years. It is just on the other side of the river from Burrum Heads. Nice quiet spot.

Heaps of reefs both close in and further out. Burrum 4 mile, 6 mile, 8 mile, Taylors, and the arti out the front of the caravan park. School macks, snapper in winter, reefies, trevors, even caught yellow tail kings there.

We usually launch at the ramp in the river at Walkers point, as its more protected than the one near the pub. The dropoff at the end of the leads also holds school mackerel at many times as well.

The river fishes well at times for the usual estuary species, plus jacks, grunter and salmon, depending on the season.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

Anything could happen by March. Wait and see how bad the flood season is.
Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
