Always from a boat. The Bribie ledges hold big fish like this and some much bigger.
Always live bait, heavy hand lines, and hang on.
We only fish for a feed.
High or low tide. I think I prefer low as you can get into position much easier right beside the ledge. You can almost step ashore.
Tailor where ever you can find them. Haven't got any yet this year, just back from the bush.
We always keep the frames because if we are giong to kill a big fish like these we eat the lot.
Anybody who gets a feed of fish off us also gets a bag of bones.
We got two last week 40 and 25 pounds and we debated if we should take the big one but because he was the first we caught we made the decision to keep it.
They are still good eating at that size and also help to keep the tucker bill down.
