    Re: Agnes / 1770 M & G. attendees list.

    ON Behalf of CHONG

    Hello All 2013 AF M&G 1770 Attendees,

As been appointed by the powers that be as one of the "Cook-Off" orgy– nizeres, or something like that ….

I here by call for Nominations for the "Cook – Off" 2013!!!!!!.

Accepted applicants must have the following attributes:

    1. Good cooking skills is a great start
    2. be able to be self sufficient and well organized
    3. supply all own food and some stuff to eat off (depending on dish)
    4. Liaise with Chong to sort evenings events
    5. Have a beer or seven and accept a glass of “joy” when offered
    6. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) is the key for your dish
    7. Accept nominated uniform for the evening ( must be worn to tavern)
    8. Supply own uniform
    9. Supply own donation tin
    10. Good listening skills, as we all like a chat J

The successful “Cooks” will have plenty of room to sort andcook dishes as we are having the event at the surf club, but early preparationis the key.

I have been in the cook-off many times and have taken thewin only once, the competition will be fierce, so no half hearted crap.

I will not be cooking this year, instead I will offer myskills to all accepted cooks on the night to assist in cooking, plating, talking, drinking, talking, cooking, serving, talking, drinking, drunking, talking, drank some, help some….you get the idea.

This year we are expecting around 100 attendees….holy crap,so your dishes will all need to be based around the following theme: Food, maybe finger food….

The idea is to have a great night, raise some coin for VMRand have a winner on the night that will receive a great big trophy and heapsof cleaning up duties.

To apply for this once a year opportunity please PM yourdetails to Chong, applicants must include proposed dish, amount of portionsproposed to be cooked and a time frame.

We are looking for 4 - 6 nominations, so be quick.

If special requirements are necessary, it’s to hard think ofsomething else.

Would also like to just mention to eveyone that will be there on the night, please arrange your transport around your evenings plans, also when members are talking, presentation, intro's and so on, shut up and let them be heard, thankyou for your understanding.

    Cheers,

    Chong

FOUR MEMBERS HAVE PUT THEIR HANDS UP ALREADY TO BE COOKS...

    Hello fellow AF 1770 2013 M&G Attendees’,

As been said nominated C.O.C.K. for this year (Cook Off Coordinator King)….
I would like to announce a new competition for this year…
    The “King Prawn” comp…
It’s a basic peel the prawn fastest and win, will be held during cook off night in between servings.
Need approx. 6 Prawn Peeling Peckerheads to have a crack, 6 prawns peeled, hands up, MC to check and we have a winner…that sort of deal.
Will have a prize off sorts and a $$$ system to make some coin for VMR.
If you think you have what it takes to be “King Prawn” Pm details and I will lock u in Eddie….

    Cheers,
    Chong

LP, currently we have five TCC 685's that will be there for the week (some for longer), but are expecting a few more CC's to make a decision closer to the time.

If we are all not out fishing/overnighting on Sat night we will come down & say hello at the cook-off. Otherwise, we plan on catching all the big reds while you boys are all still hung-over .

The attached may be of use to some of the newbe's going up for the first time. Distance rings from Round Hill give a good indication of where everything is in relation to RH. Resolution for posting is not that good, however in A4 gives sufficient info/detail.
    Cheers

P.S. gents, this is no substitution for proper maps or charts, use only as a guide etc etc, you know what I mean

Yes, that is an old Sunmap.

I have one here. Looks like he has super-imposed the rings or simply drawn them on.

Mine is printed by Go Print and dated 1988. I have another one dated 1991.

I used these " in the old days " to fairly accurately, pin point spot soundings on contour lines etc.

Yep LP, 'Sunmap Offshore Fishing Guide', mine is Edition 4, December 2006.

Honda, FYI it shows known 'reefs' as red soundings amongst the 'general' soundings. Also shows common reef names etc. Quite a handy reference & good starting guide - and known to produce 'reds' from the red soundings too .

Still available at many retailers I'm sure, or go to w w w. publications. qld . gov . au

FYI, I added the rings using MS Paint. A bit tricky to get them concentric and correctly spaced but worked out ok in the end. Actually was just playing around at first, working out how to overlay them correctly, but was using rings that were too thick - then kept going anyway . Was supposed to 'make a nicer one' but ....

LP, If you want a higher res pic for err... general viewing at the M&G etc let me know.
    Cheers
    Brendon
