    Freshwater Crab ID?

Can anyone tell me what sort of freshwater crab this is? Just curious as only ever seen them in petshops and they looked different to this one.
Was caught in a yabby pot in a bore drain near cunnamulla QLD and was about 3cm across.

Searched here - http://aquaticlife.angfaqld.org.au/Crabs.htm but not much help.. Only seven freshwater species documented.

    Cheers.

Its Austrothelphusa transversa. Pretty common throughout Queensland, also in a few other states. There colouration can vary a bit.

Here is one from the Georgina River in western QLD.

Lets hope they go feral in Qld. Seeing mud crabs are almost extinct north of Hervey Bay this could be great for recreational fishers in CQ.

Given their small size, I don't think there's much chance of them benefiting recreational fishers!!
