Whether or not they will tow a cat well is another question
Hey Guys
Looking for a new vehicle that needs to meet the following specifications. I have only been able to come up with 2 options (tell you at the end of the post) .... but am keen on your thoughts.
Here we go ...
- daily driver from the coast to brisbane so needs to be a nice drive (not a truck).
- needs to be a SUV not a dual cab/ute.
- prefer a mid sized vehicle ... Not full size (ie landcrusier)
- needs to be diesel.
- tow a kevlacat 5.2 (2.3t)
- would like a bit of leather ... but not mandatory
The only options that I could come up with was a Jeep Cherokee KJ or Volvo X60 .... neither thrill the pants off me.
Open to any options that you can think of.
Sorry for the tight specifications ... But happy to debate them as well.
Steve

Colarado 7 LTZ - might be too big for you but better a bit big than too small depending on how far you tow. Haven't been in one yet so no idea on day to day ride. Never thought I'd say it but as a daily driver ( borrowed mates ) on the road the Jeep grand Cherokee top of the range drive very well and due to weak USD are bloody good value for all the fuity inclusions. The other small SUV just don't make the 2500kg tow . Nissan pathfinder is smaller format with big tow capacity - have driven a few year old model which drove Ok. Commute even in diesel won't be cheap fuel or maintenance. Can the wife use it for a shorter daily runs if she doesn't commute and you run a smaller vehicle running up the km for weekday commute?
"Whether or not they will tow a cat well is another question" Chop isn't too bad down that way not like up in FNQ!!
Add Touregs to the list for on road comfort.
another vote for the Colarado 7. We have just got one and I like it a lot.
Remember to always log on before heading offshore.
Auto Diesel Pajero on special atm. Tows to 3t.
Cheers

mitsubishi Challenger is another good option,

Go right in cos you've already served your time in Hell'
I have a Cherokee KK Limited and use it for my daily drive from GC to Brisbane daily. Tows my boat well. Has leather etc. Great offroad too. Very underrated for price. Looked at FJ Cruiser and Challenger and drove them both. KK was just so much better.
Another vote for Pajero diesel,I did the commute every 4 days from Gold Coast to Bundy for 8 months until the house sold, a nice drive car and the missus likes to drive it as well.
