    Hi

    Hi All,

My name is Leah and I live in Sydney. I grew up fishing in the Macleay River with my grandfather, and have reignited the love of fishing again the past few years. My partner and I recently acquired our first boat, she's nothing flash but does the job

I fish mainly Sydney, Hawkesbury, Windang and South West Rocks.

Keen to learn from people and hopefully become more successful at targeting along the way.

    Leah

Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.

    Re: Hi

Gday Leah & hope you enjoy the site. I've just started fishing about 3 years ago after a 30 year hiatus, & this site has been invaluable.
Any question you ask, someone will know. There are a few clowns on here, like the one who wears bright Hawaiin shirts & has his crab pots stolen regularly & is in the process of starting his own Piscatorial Religion, but you'll get to know them!! LOL
    Looking forward to your reports.
    Loved the cuttlefish one!!

    Re: Hi

Thanks Guys :-) I'm going to drop my next Rocky back down and see if I can do it again lol...

I've been reading through and learning already, then curse why I am at work when I want to be out on the boat haha!

LP I didn't end up sampling I don't normally eat seafood, but I fed a lot of people.

How could I not be a blues supporter that would be just plain traitorous if me if I didn't :-)

Yeah, not sure that's still enough reason to be a blues supporter. But I suppose you don't pick your relations or whether you were born north of the Tweed. It's not your fault mate, so don't get upset about it...
but seriously welcome to the site, it has lots of people with amazing information rattling around their heads so if you have a question and put it out there, you'll always get an answer. Some of them might even make sense. And some of those will even be helpful! As someone has mentioned, you'll soon figure out who is who.

    Re: Hi

Good stuff Leah, and nice job on that huge cuttlefish!

    Welcome also to Becka.

Ausfish is a good site, plenty of people who will offer opinions, and offer help if you are in a bind. Or point you in the direction of someone reliable in the industry to help you out.

Lots of us have been around boats and fishing for longer than we care to admit, and therefore have done just about all the stupid, harebrained things that could possibly be done in those areas!

So if we can help those newer to the game avoid doing the same things we did, its gotta be a good thing, hey!

Plus we try to have a bit of fun and stir each other along a bit, particularly that bloke Dave (aka Netmaker) who seems to have far too much fishing time on his hands at this time of year!

My first bit of advice to all new boatowners is to find yourself a really good marine mechanic who specialises in your brand of motor, catch him/her, build a bloody big fence around them, and never let them escape.... Good ones can be a rare commodity and once youve found one you dont want to let them get away!

    Welcome!
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....
