    Spambot Alert

    Logged on this morning to see we had some wonderful new members all online;

    Looks a bit strange. Mods might want to delete them before they start posting spam.....

    cheers

    Did they all pay ten bucks?

    Re: Spambot Alert

    Dunno about $10, but I can see they are multiplying.
    Someone should tell a Mod before these accounts start posting.
    Anybody have a mods phone number?

    Its just a matter of time before the boards are flooded. This is a bot attack, and it has happened before.

    more sus names just joined;

    Apolagies of any of these are genuine accounts, I didnt have time to check them all. Im sure 99% of them are bogus.

    I am sure that if they all subscribe and pay the fee then Ausfish will be far better off. Best to let them pay and collect their $10 then wipe them out after they post. Win/win for Ausfish.

    As it is they cannot do any harm.

    All good information for people mate.

    Forums from around the world experience this all the time. Fortunately this software has some great features that stops them. It is the real spammers (real humans) that you have to watch out for.

    Thanks for the alert. They can't do anything unless they pay to post. This is one of the reasons why we introduced the pay to post option years ago, other wise the forums would have gone the way of many others around the world.

    It seems that AVG was picking up the way we served ads as a virus. But no other virus software was. Have made a few changes so hope it is fixed for you now. I don't use AVG or IE so can not test it.
