Thats not a boat thats Noahs Ark
Dan
Went to get the boat out yesterday to give it a look over, put bungs in etc getting ready for a fish on Sunday when I found a 6 ft carpet snake curled up in the boat. Removed him, then found remnants of frog skeletons, rat turds & other unidentifiable bits on my helm.
Getting a box off the boat that contained life jackets etc, when a big bush rat jumped out & ran back into the boat into an inaccessible spot.
No wonder the snake was on the boat!
Set 2 traps & checked 9pm last night & caught 1. Reset & this morning no rats, but bait gone, so I still have a visitor on the boat with me.
Definitely time to go fishing when your boat becomes a zoo!!

lol should have left him in there to finish the job
Tony try three 10/0 hooks in the back of those great trolling bait apparently
This is the 4th rat caught on my boat in the last week or two!
Tony
id rather have those ones then the other ones that drink all your beer uses all your bait and dont chip in for fuel ....
I've got to the point with whoever I take out I tell them whats expected.
If doing a closer run, say North Reef, its $20, a bag of ice, your own bait food & beer & leftover bait stays on the boat for berley for the next trip.
If going wide, the same but $50.
Still way cheaper than a charter!!
One bloke recently brought a small bag of pillies, but proceeded to clean me out of whole squid as he saw thats what they were biting on???
I explained thats why I have pillies & squid, & next time, he should too.

Thats no good Tony,
time for new deckies i reckon,
so have you discovered yet what they were eating? apparently they are quite partial to wiring...
fishing's as simple as 3 P's - patience, perserverance and PLASTIC!
Dave,
I think they are bringing the passionfruit that are growing over my shed onto the boat & enjoying the comfort of a dry, carperted area to partake on.
Interestingly, I am only catching them on the carpeted areas, not on the fishing deck itself??
I am still stuffed how they can climb onboard. Mate, I struggle getting onto my boat, & I'm 6"2
Tony
have a good look around for their nest tony. you can bet there is one there somewhere if you have caught that many onboard. guaranteed they are not just visiting for meal times.

One bloke told me once washed down, spray Dettol over the floor & in any hidy holes as they hate it.
Worth a try!!
