Mate as one whose loves intricate cross wraps, I really appreciate the work gone into this rod. That wrap is outstanding.
The reason for the cork in the rear grip serves a purpose as well as a cosmetic look
Rear grips seem to get knoched around alot in rod holders were the rim of the rod holder makes contact with the grip over long periods in the holder....So just tryin out a piece of cork there to see how the cork will handel the wear and tear
Got red shrink wrap over eva on the outher grips
Also spiral wrap build on a Loomis... Granite L905 12-25lb Blank

Nice work Willo.
The cork fits in well and breaks up all that red!
Cheers,

The whole world's mad save thee & me (but I'm not too sure about thee)
Fantastic looking rod,you must be very patient.
Thanks Guys
Yeh Mark.......Done lots of open chevies and stuff but first closed cross wrap for me
Steep learning curve.... and have come to the conclusion that the most important part of the wrap is in the set out ....and packing ...and packing....and packing...LOL
Yep, that's cross wrapping 101. First lesson pack, pack and pack again.
dam looks cool mate, i must bring my granite over for a makeover!
Very nice job there Willo.
The cork does fit in nicely. I know what you mean about the grip getting damaged in the rod holder. I've used Hypalon for that reason. Hypalon is tougher but because of it's weight, it's also a bit of a disadvantage.
nice work mate
closed wraps all begin with the tapered offset layout
if its not spot on it will cause you grief
but that one cam up a treat!
