STOP THE GREAT AUSSIE ANGLER LOCK OUT - TAKE ACTION NOW!

PM Julia Gillard has announced the federal election for September 14, 2013. This means the Labor Government is fast tracking its marine park process - THE BIGGEST AUSSIE ANGLER LOCK OUT IN HISTORY - before it has to face the voting public at the polls. And the ALP still hasn’t told us WHY it’s locking us out!

What this means is that our fishing rights are UNDER SERIOUS THREAT. Once we are locked out, we are locked out FOREVER. Even a new government can’t guarantee that it can overturn the LOCK OUT once it’s legislated.

If the Gillard Government gets away with this LOCK OUT, Aussie anglers will not only lose some of the most iconic fishing spots in the world, like Marion, Shark and Osprey reefs in the Coral Sea and Dampier, the Perth Trench and Geographe Bay in WA, but we will be faced with a future of more and more LOCK OUTS. The Greens have made it clear they want to close many more areas to fishing. They’ll use this marine parks decision by the Gillard Government as a precedent to force their anti-fishing agendas through parliament. If this happens, what’s to stop your favourite fishing spot being the next to be locked up?

Scare-mongering? Tell that to our kids when they can’t go fishing! We need to STOP THIS NOW!

We now have less than 14 days to get our voice heard. Remember, sending a strong message to the Gillard Government will also let all sides of politics, as well as the anti-fishing organizations, know that we won’t accept unjustified lock-outs.
