Thread: Zerek Live Shrimp

    Zerek Live Shrimp

Is anyone using Zerek Live Shrimp for estuary species. If so, what size/colour have you had success with.

I'm thinking of giving the 3.5 inch/7 gram ones a go in the dark red colour.

    Cheers,

    Peter

yeah mate they are pretty good, they now come in 3 sizes,3.5 is my favourite. there is a 2 inch(i think) that would be deadly on the bream aswell. the red colour is the one to go for the flatties. the 5 inch one are a little too big though.

Why are they called live shrimp if they're made of plastic?
They should be known as Zerek plastic shrimp.
    False advertising saying they're live?

When I read the title I thought someone has nutted out how to transport live shrimps.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Called 'Live Shrimp' mainly for the action.I've seen one in a swiming pool and they are quite realistic when hoped across the bottom.

I have a couple but have not caught anything on them yet.

They are OK though I think the hook is a bit large in the bigger ones, it looks like a beefed up 7/0 weighted monster Gamakatsu, kind of thing you would use only on huge Jacks or Barra or something..

I use the bigger size for flatties as i get a more accurate cast. No problem hooking up barely legal size. They are very good for barra. Colour doesn't seem to matter as its all in the slow twitchy retrieve.

Have caught fish on most colours in all sizes. The new little 2 inch one will be a cracker for most estuary targets! Mates have been doing really well on the reef fish with the larger size- just re-rigging with a heavier jig head or tying a loop knot with a ball sinker on the loop. Sweeties love em! Very versatile range of lures!
