Cool Re: Trailerboat Swains trip from Yeppoon

There's a young guy buy the name of Josh Lyon (The Sportsfisher) who has just done a run from Cooktown to Weipa in a 6 meter trailer boat.

I think he has details on his Facebook page.

    Cheers

see people its not hard to keep things on topic, this just goes to show people are travelling further in trailer boats... Must be the bigger trailer and bigger car towing to what they had in the 70's - 80's

A Port Clinton / Pearl Bay trip is def on the cards as is a 1770 trip, but after reading a thread from one on the Ausfish boys doing Swains from Stanage got us thinking of adding it to the list.
The thought of exploring that sort of area yourself in your own boat is mouthwatering. Obviously it's a long long way and you'd have to pick your weather but I think it's very doable...

Does anyone of the local cap coast lads know of anyone doing a similar trip??

    Thanks
So have you got your answer yet kaypee???

The way I see it whether you go 10 km's out or 200km's out if something goes pear shaped you ain't gonna swim either distance so it makes little difference yet those long hauls can get painful when she blows no one likes 10 plus hours of bone jarring to get home.

This a great thread! One of the best for some time, and I only got on to it yesterday!

Just waiting for some sort of reply from the aggrieved other party.
