12.7.2 plus some dollies and wahoo on saturday and a possible recapture

Headed out through the northern channel of south passage about 6am on saturday.Swell was up a bit and tide was very low.waited for a lull then got out without any dramas.passed another boat turning around just before we headed out who didnt like the look of it but rewards were waiting for us on the other side.Set our spread in some warm water a few ks south and hooked 2 blacks within 10 minutes of lines in the water.continued to get strikes and hook ups but just wernt converting.Had a mate out trolling to so we were able to pin point certain locations that were holding fish but funly enough wernt holding bait or birds,go figure.After a handful of missed fish we finally hooked up a double hook up of a dolly and a nice little black in very warm water.Which we converted both.
trolled for another few passes and very quickly dropped 2 more little blacks in quick succession.spent the next few hours moving around to some new areas and found a little hoo around 10kg and another dolly and about 4 striped tuna.
around mid afternoon the other boat fishing with us hooked and completed a black with a snapped bill in the same area that we had accidently broken one off 6 days before!! it looked identical to the one we had broken off and put up a great show for them to!and they also managed to tag it.So if anyone catches one as described please let me know and take down the tag details.We scored another one straight after they caught that one and called it a day.There definately getting more thick in numbers but are playing and swiping at the lures alot more.One thing that seemed to work for us a little more was not to touch the throttle when we initially hook up unless the fish was jumping across our spread.Congrats on all the guys getting onto there first bills and putting there family and friends onto a few aswell.We have managed to have all our fish swim off healthily and have kept our fish out of water time to a maximum of 30 seconds,and always supporting them upon lifting them from the water.We also have the cameras ready before we hook up to limit the time from capture to release.Great time to target these fish if you havent caught one yet,so go get em!!
