hi all
how and where can i catch shrimp at somerset dam for fishing help please

You'll get shrimp anywhere around the edges of the lake after dark. If you're camping overnight at Kirkleagh just throw your shrimp trap a few metres out from the bank. Always done ok along the rock wall near the east facing ramp and up the back of gully behind the swimming area. If you're staying at the camping ground below the wall you'll need to set your traps somewhere in the dam and pick them up the next morning, maybe look for a weed bed. the Stanley River below the wall is ok too if you can find a spot out of the current. Make sure you use a box shaped fine mesh trap and not an opera-house trap. I normally use dry dog food for bait.
