Remember if paypal reject your claim you can contact your credit card company and claim it as an unauthorised payment and they will refund.

I reported the item in my above post to Ebay and they've wiped this seller already. Nicely done. See how long it takes for him to re-invent himself under another name.

No mate - you've got it all wrong!

That reel was obviously not my thing! - so I have upgraded my focus on a Miya Epoch and a seller with a few thousand sales and 99% satisfaction.

Must have had a brain slip to bid on the other but yes expect the paypal safety net to repay anyway. Shame you can't email a bomb to these people!

Miyas are the bees knees. What size are you looking at?

    Arigato are pretty good.

Good question TM - but I reckon never having done this before - to fish a depth 400m plus requires size between 800 older version (X8 newer version) and 1100 (11)

Depends on the line size as you can obviously go smaller if you are using less than 100lb braid - but that ain't me - 150lb sounds good - I am a sportsman

    Trev,

If you are going to use fleabay, ALWAYS ALWAYS use google image search with the images presented. It will find the original if it has been copied. Can be done in 30 seconds and gives some peace of mind.

Thanks TM - yep I got trapped.

Hope for a refund with Paypal as they were alerted straight after payment so bozo should not have the money.

Re: I bought this $380 USD reel on ebay and got seriously stoned

I have traded on Ebay for years and yes had a scammer rip me for $900 thru a Paypal transaction. I contacted my bank, Westpac, and they refunded the money to my account immediately, saying Paypal is a merchant. So they took the money as i understand it back from paypal and told me Paypal had 45 days to prove the item had been posted. Of course they couldnt, so my money was securely refunded to me.

Paypal didnt like me doing it this way, but it was a way easier to get action, immediately , by going to my bank!

I hear what you are saying and to be honest i am getting very frustrated with Paypal - they have had the dispute and claim going for nearly one month and even 10 days after I received the pebble they send me this:-

    > -----------------------------------
    >
    > In order to continue this investigation, a police report must be filed
    > with
    > your local law enforcement agency and a copy of the report must be faxed

    > so we may attach the documents to your claim as quickly as possible.
    >
    > This report should be on the law enforcement agency’s letterhead or
    > stamped

I mean I even sent them the photos of the stone sitting on the envelope with the exact tracking number bozo sent them and even a moron could see you cant fit the reel in the tiny envelope.

I will be talking with the bank today.

Each time I gave them info they wanted one month to look into it and each time they requested info they gave me three days - atleast this time they gave ten days to jump through some hoops.

I even sent them screen snaps of this thread to show the clown in China is a regular scammer.
    Cheers
