Nothing wrong with it as such but range is the issue mate. Not sure I want to carry that much fuel on deck. A trip out to Musgrave fishing and back in a day uses about 120lts of fuel. That's on the water at 8.30 am and off by 4pm. With 150lt tank that isn't much reserve. If I wanted to overnight at Fitzroy and fish wide it would mean a lot of fuel in cans.

Two x 20l jerries sitting in the open section of the cab goes alright. When I had the 2 stroke on the Yalta thats all I would carry. Should comfortably get you out and back. You dont want to go and raft up with these ferrets anyway. They will just lead you astray!

Yep I hear what your saying mate. If I had fuel monitoring I would be a lot happier. My sounder/GPS doesn't have NMEA 2000 and I don't have the cash right now to update. I am getting better at trim which is helping the economy also.

OZ the lagoon & Musgrave are about the same fuel burn mate, you can get 20L soft roll up Jerry cans online & solas have some now after I told them about them.
I put 60L on duck board first trip out didn't end up needing it but was nice to have.

I am keen to find out my limits with this motor but it would be nice to have company. So if anyone is headed up here let me know and we can organise something.
    Cheers

Ozy, just keep records or fuel and oil usage, over a few day trips to work out what you will need..
Just remember its 65+ km there and the same back, But while your out there fishing you might only cover an extra 20-40km all day fishing some areas.

You don't need to cover huge distances after your out there to get quality fish..

    Cheers
PS don't forget extra 2 stroke oil for the extra fuel your carrying

Will start doing that as well as hours. I always carry extra oil in case.

As fishfeeder says Ozy you dont need to do many miles once you are there to get fish. The spot we fished last trip was about 75 kms from round hill out east of boult and we only travelled 167 for the day. So out and back around 150 and about 17 checking a few marks here and there. Your 115 would do that easy on a good day with around 40l in reserve in jerries!

You are a voice of reason mate. Thanks for the info, will find a deckie and give it a crack once the weather sorts itself out.

Yep.. We'll kill them with all your special knowledge Ozy. What a team.

Politics should be banned from any M&G. Any discussion of politics should have an immediate fine of a shout all round at the bar. Lucky Phil to officiate seeing he's not much interested in politics but wouldn't mind a free drink or two.

I tell ya what Neil, maybe we could invite several ALP pollies , including " Ginger Meggs " to compete at the cook-off, as they WILL be out of a job.

    Are we there yet ??????
