China importation

Hi, has anybody got any experience and recommendations for bringing equipment in from China. The product is a little big to post. Is there a consolidation/freight service you have used and recommend. I see the company is quotinhg free on board then adding a port fee to the price, is that the norm?

I hope you can point me in the right direction.

I have used Asean Transport or Interglobal Express to get shipments from Asia. They seem OK.

The item is about 30 kilo and the size of a small washing machine, including the packing crate.
