Caught a couple of nice Bream at Donnybrook on the weekend and noticed quiet a few black worms in the flesh mainly around the stomach area when filleted, their not in a cluster just a single worm about 15mm long, caught quiet a few bream in the same area a couple of years back that had the same worm in them.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed them.

They're quite common. I think that they are probably lying inside veins in the flesh because if you dig the point of a fine filleting knife under them you can often pull the whole worm out. I've attached a picture of one in a bream fillet. I also find the same worm in luderick fillets too.
Another worm you often get in bream is a tight bunch of yellow worms which are through the flesh. You have to cut out the lump of flesh in this case.

Far from uncommon after a fresh event, along with the red spot ulcerations at the same time too.
Jewfish are probably the worst I have seen for parasitic worms after the fresh.
Easter last year i caught a squire at Scarby reef with a similar worm too, plus plenty of them in the past two years have had cysts in the flesh.
