Juvenile Ooglie. ?????
can anyone identify this for me please iv gone to two bait nd tackle shops, a co op, 3 pro fishos and the old bloke down the road for no answers, it came out of 250 meters of water and took a big slab of mullet destined for a cod, they look like small squire but have yellow fins and a yellow tinge through the body,the have teeth like hussar, and they are only about 30cms long,iv caught a few of these now and wanna know wat there called

I believe it's a "Tangs Snapper", If your working over the shelf edge then the best species guide excluding the small sharks like Spur dogs, Green Eye's and a heap of others have a look at

i dont think it was juvenile it was roed up..... i thought it might be a tangs snapper to
just had a look at a few pics on the tangs snapper.....no deal

after looking at my books i would put my money on it being Deep Sea Snapper, Dentex tumifrons.
